Vossloh AG

Vossloh is a globally active technology group that was founded roughly 140 years ago in Werdohl, in the Sauerland region, and has since focused entirely on rail infrastructure. Rail fastening systems, concrete sleepers, turnout systems and crossings, as well as increasingly digitalized services for the entire life cycle of rails and turnouts, have made Vossloh a world market leader with a systemic understanding of the rail track.

With approximately 4,200 employees in nearly 80 group companies and more than 40 production sites across almost 30 countries, Vossloh works to increase the availability of the rail track. Vossloh develops and manufactures durable, low-maintenance components and processes that enable efficient and predictive maintenance of the rail network. With digitalized technology, the condition of the rail can be analyzed with precision, and customers can be advised on—and provided with—tailor-made, condition-based maintenance measures.

In addition to the publicly listed Vossloh AG (since 1990), which manages all business divisions, the subsidiary Vossloh Fastening Systems GmbH is also based in Werdohl. In the new factory completed in 2021, it produces around 50 million rail fastening clips per year. In this area, Vossloh is the world market leader; for turnout systems, Vossloh ranks number 2 globally.

In 2022, the new M-generation rail fastening clip developed by Vossloh was presented to the public for the first time and met with great enthusiasm. Thanks to its innovative geometry—with spring arms bent outward—it features a high natural frequency, is robust and long-lasting, and is characterized by very low life-cycle costs. Moreover, owing to a new micro-steel alloy, reduced material usage, and a more compact design, it achieves an improved CO₂ footprint.
