Busch-Jaeger Elektro GmbH

We are the world market leader in the SCHUKO® socket outlet sector.

Busch-Jaeger Elektro GmbH is the world market leader for SCHUKO sockets and switches. Every year, more than 55 million sockets are manufactured at the German production sites in Lüdenscheid and Bad Berleburg-Aue.

The company stands for innovative technology that makes life easier and future-proof. In terms of quality, product range and innovation, Busch-Jaeger meets the highest demands in close cooperation with the trade and specialist retailers. The portfolio includes the complete electrical installation program up to electronic high-end products for Smart Home and Smart Building.

Busch-Jaeger takes responsibility for a more sustainable future. Resource conservation and energy efficiency are the focus of business activities. The new Busch-art linear switch series sets standards with a uniquely sustainable design. A proportion of 98 percent of recycled raw materials from plastics (recyclates) is used in the production of the black switch, and 92 percent for the white switch. A new, state-of-the-art production line for SCHUKO sockets ensures highly productive, efficient and sustainable manufacturing and allows a significant expansion of production capacity.

Busch-Jaeger, a subsidiary of the ABB Group, has implemented the Group’s first climate-neutral production facility at its Lüdenscheid site. A 7,300 m2 photovoltaic area ensures temporary energy self-sufficiency.

The company’s founders Heinrich Jaeger and Friedrich Wilhelm Busch laid the foundation for its success story back in 1881 with the development of the Edison lamp socket. Today, the company is one of the market leaders in many areas of electrical installation technology and building automation and has been one of the strong brands in Germany for over 140 years. The employees as brand ambassadors are decisive for the success of Busch-Jaeger.
