With more than 75 years of experience in the field of occupant protection, SCHROTH Safety Products GmbH is the specialist for safety belts and passenger restraint systems. The company is one of the world market leaders for aircraft safety belts in civil aviation. At locations in Germany and Florida, the company develops and produces a wide range of restraint systems for the aerospace industry. Today, SCHROTH flight attendant harnesses can be found in almost all Airbus passenger aircraft types, and many renowned airlines (Lufthansa, British Airways, Etihad Airways) also secure their passengers with SCHROTH seat belts.

The Arnsberg-based company also sees itself as a problem solver for special niche applications, such as safety belts for military ground vehicles. Here, SCHROTH not only has a leading position in the global market, but is also the technological leader in belt-integrated airbag systems. Another mainstay is the company’s leading global role in motorsport safety belts, for example in the American NASCAR racing series.

Founded in 1946 by Hildegard and Carl F. Schroth, the company was the first manufacturer of car safety belts in Germany in 1954. In the 1970s and 1980s, the company became the German market leader for retrofittable 3- and 4-point seat belts and in 1991, in cooperation with Airbus, entered the aviation sector. In 2000, SCHROTH founded a production plant in Florida and began manufacturing seat belt systems specifically for the American market.

The company supplies its customers via a global sales network and ensures that spare parts can be delivered worldwide in the shortest possible time thanks to a special AOG emergency service („aircraft on ground“). The SCHROTH group of companies
employs around 250 people, including numerous engineers in product development and application engineering.
