We are the global market leader in power semiconductors for drives, renewable energies and transportation systems and stand for the energy transition made in Warstein
Infineon Technologies AG in Warstein develops and produces power semiconductor modules at its innovation site in Warstein-Belecke and focuses its business on decarbonization and digitalization. Infineon is the global market leader in the development and production of these modules, which are used to power modern high-performance trains, in automotive electromobility, in the use of renewable energies (wind, solar, hydropower) and increasingly in household applications (washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners, heat pumps). In an electric vehicle, for example, these components ensure the energy-efficient conversion of direct current from the battery into alternating current for the drivetrain. They therefore also have an influence on the range of these vehicles. The companies AEG in Warstein and Siemens in Pretzfeld (Franconia) began developing and manufacturing power semiconductors back in 1946. In 1993, the first high-performance module for traction applications was launched on the market. Since then, new products have been developed in Warstein almost every year, a number of which have established themselves as world standards. The cooperation between the development of semiconductor technologies by AEG and Siemens, which continued in West Germany in 1946, began in 1990 with the jointly founded eupec Gm
