As a traditional company, Wippermann jr. GmbH has been producing high-quality industrial chains and sprockets for all drive solutions for over 130 years at its site in Hagen, North Rhine-Westphalia.

The company is the qualitative market leader for maintenance-free and lubricant-free high-performance roller chains and rigid chains. Among its well-known customers are companies such as BMW, VW, Jungheinrich and GEA.

Wippermann manufactures exclusively in Germany with 290 employees in 2022, generating sales of 55 million euros. The export share is 39 percent. A comprehensive sales network with subsidiaries, representatives, field staff and distributors guarantees the worldwide availability of Wippermann products.

Today, Wippermann is successfully managed as a family business in the fifth generation by Dr. Stephan Gerber and Christian Hamann.

Sustainability as a corporate philosophy is also reflected at Wippermann in numerous product developments. Maintenance-free marathon chains with sintered bushings and triathlon chains with polymer bearings, for example, minimize the need for maintenance thanks to their extended service life and the fact that they do not require lubricants.

One of the company’s core competencies is qualified consulting in questions of drive and conveyor technology: Here, Wippermann develops and plans special solutions with its customers based on their needs. By means of selected raw materials, competence in the production of semi-finished parts and the application of sophisticated heat treatment and coating processes, Wippermann ensures proven quality at all times. Through a special combination of high-quality steels and high-performance polymer materials, Wippermann achieves a unique selling proposition for roller and rigid chains.
