Umarex Corporate Group

The Umarex Corporate Group is an internationally operating, owner-managed family business in the recreational gun and outdoor industry. In the 50 years since its foundation, Umarex has become the world market leader in the field of over-the-counter gun replicas and self-protection devices with currently around 1,300 employees. The group of companies operates production facilities in Germany, Europe and the USA. The company Carl Walther, manufacturer of pistols for the police and security authorities as well as of sporting arms for world class target shooters, has also been part of the Corporate Group since 1993.

The continuous expansion by subsidiaries worldwide also involves the consistent extension of Umarex Germany’s core product range, which currently comprises the product worlds Classic (compressed airguns and accessories), Protect (equipment for effective self-protection), Action (airsoft guns and paintball markers) as well as Explore (a wide variety of outdoor products). In the Modern Sporting Arms category, Umarex also operates in the OEM business as a competent partner to renowned firearms manufacturers worldwide, but also with its own distribution channel. In the UMX Solutions division, Umarex offers training and less lethal de-escalation devices for security authorities and meets the highly specific requirements in this sector.

In 2022, the company celebrated its 50th anniversary and the start of construction of the new logistics center in Arnsberg-Vosswinkel covering an area of approx. 66,000 m² with a focus on efficiency and sustainability. This construction phase was completed in 2023 and the Group’s new headquarters will be built on the site within the next five years. The active management of the company is now in the hands of the second generation of managing partners.
