Franz Miederhoff GmbH & Co. KG is Europe’s leading manufacturer of special fastening and fixing technology for the manufacture of heavy technical fabrics and textile structures. The company produces side curtain systems as well as a variety of common fastening and closure components for truck tarpaulins and (large) tent construction and supplies products for advertising technology.

In addition to side-curtain tensioners, the production program also includes eyelets, staples, twist and slide fasteners, tent piping, tarpaulin ropes and retraction systems as well as the tools and machines required for processing. Thanks to the wide range and depth of products, Miederhoff offers its more than 3,000 customers in the commercial vehicle equipment market and tarpaulin manufacture complete solutions in fastening technology. Miederhoff supplies its customers in more than 60 countries worldwide.

The company was founded in 1896 as a forge in the Endorf district. After switching to the manufacture of truck fittings in the 1950s and several expansions, the company relocated to Sundern in 1987. In 1991, a further production site was established in Saxony. From the 1990s onwards, the focus was increasingly on the manufacture of tarpaulin tensioning systems, which are now one of the company’s main sales drivers. In 2001, the „Sign-Ware“ product line was developed as a carrier and rail system for digital printing and trade fair construction. Since 2007, the product division has been independent as Sign-Ware GmbH & Co. In 2011, the Sundern production site was expanded again and a state-of-the-art plastic injection molding and extrusion production facility was added.
